Eyes Made Of Stars

by Karolyn Kimsey   Mar 23, 2016

They all talk
They all are saying
She's like a princess in a love sonnet to herself

They all watch
She makes them nervous
The way she moves

Her eyes are made of stars
She says
She tells stories
They all will say

She knows, there are many sides to truth
She does not pay the mind or time to
Trace the lines

They stand to stand her
So they can say they stood
Next to her as she carried on the way she carries on

Taking something from her time for themselves and painting her picture
In all dirty muted shades

She stands in for them in slower colder times and tells witness of their rights
All of the wrongs
Do not inhibit
What protects those who are on their knees

They will get a second chance
Still will have complimentary laughs
Into how absurd the girl was to get involved
She's not a friend
No one likes her after all

She's like an outcast or an alien
What a mess They say
and caste her in, cast her out in front,
They all stare
But for all of their best hate
They could not change
The girls material or shape
The cast that built her mould
Had forgiving sides

She's like a space cadet
On a mission of no return
She says she wears stars
Instead of eyes

She's not like us
What does she do
I hear her other does it too
And for all of that
She can dance
But we won't join in

For all of those who know
She can dance
we won't join in
