You

by Allie   Mar 23, 2016

She looks at the tear stained pillow, the heartache on her wrists. She looks in the mirror and asks herself " why did I let it get so bad", " why did I feel so empty". She will never understand why she had such a hard time letting go of what was slowly killing her. All those nights she was alone, praying for an end. All the memories she let eat away at her, the tears she cried, the screams she thought went unheard. Her eyes have opened, her heart is whole again. Her soul is no longer weeping from the pain of her past. She's been saved....you saved her. All she's ever needed was you, was to feel like she was worth something, to feel the heart beat of someone else. The warmth of your hug,  you telling her "it's gonna be okay". You will never understand how much you mean to her, how you saved her. There's no more tears, no more scars, no more screams....because of you.

I like this piece as it's looking ba k at your haunted past but only because you have been saved and it's written well. I'm glad things have worked out for you. :)

Thank you, I have my days and I'm not quite over my past yet, which is where my other poems come in.
