Man in the Mirror

by NateCanpbell   Apr 11, 2016

As I look at this man in the mirror,
He makes me feel so much hate.
I hate who he once was,
And how he fell and took the bait.

As I look at this man in the mirror,
He makes me feel such disdain.
For everyone he hurt,
For causing everyone such pain.

As I look at this man in the mirror,
He makes me feel such regret.
Everyone he loved,
He somehow seemed to forget.

As I look at this man in the mirror,
Somehow I feel such hope.
That the lessons I've learned,
Will one day through me a rope.

I will learn from this man in the mirror,
I won't make the same mistakes.
I will learn from this man,
Of myself something I will make.

Your actions make the man in the mirror,
So be careful what you do.
Please take these words to heart,
You control him, he does not control you.

Nate, this is very meaningful and true.

We all have baggage, regrets and feel guilty at times but we shouldn't beat ourselves up about it or if we do we shouldn't do it long, easier said than done I know.

Your actions make the man in the mirror,
So be careful what you do.
Please take these words to heart,
You control him, he does not control you.

This stanza is my favourite because it is very true. We make the mistakes etc and we have to learn from them. None of us are perfect.

Will one day through me a rope.

I think the through in this line is meant to be throw.

    Tale care, Em
