Tired Angel (a song cut short)

by Phil Laws   May 11, 2016

Angel are you tired,
Bandaged or betrayed?
Has all that you've desired
Seemed to often be delayed?

Tell me what transpired
I'll listen to the trade
From mistakes that inspired
To make you cautiously afraid

Angel if you're tired
Don't ever be dismayed
Experience acquired
Is not about emotion paid

So,
Leave it in the past
Pain should simply be surpassed
Not amassed in a mind aghast
That's forcing it to last

Live in what's today
Listen to what people say
And tell delay to go away
Or you'll stay in this replay

---Note: I will likely never complete this because the Tired Angel took her own life before I finished writing it.

This is so sad! I'm sorry for your loss, this person meant a lot to you, such a lovely write. I do hope you finish this, in memory of your fallen angel.

So sad that this was cut short.. to often people take their live over past events that keep playing on their mind. I think the hardest part is getting over those times.

    Live in what's today
    Listen to what people say
And tell delay to go away
Or you'll stay in this replay

Loved this part especially because its true we should live for today not dwell on the what ifs and should haves.

It was after reading your quote:

"Suicide doesn't end the pain, it just passes it to someone else."

that I thought of this one. She was my best friends roommate. Watching her Father deal with cleaning out her stuff was heartbreaking.
