Sugar

by Fragile Nymph   Jun 5, 2016

Your eyes are sheer poetry,
like lustrous reflective jewellery of fiery red.
The thought of you is like hummingbirds in a frustrating morning
and your love, sweet marijuana.
And so, I keep asking for more
for what you feed me is never a bore.
Your words are my favourite lullaby.
Your mind, my favourite bruiser...
and me, I'm your lifelong masochism addict.
Pain is what's mixed with my blood.
Tears are what's leaded by the flood.
You're like sugar, my dear,
sweet,
but not very good for me, I fear.

...But the taste of you,
I still seek and adore.

Another enthralling write. We always seem to go for those that make life that bit harder even though they may taste sweet they're not. I like the metaphors in this piece and the subtle rhymes.

Love really can be a lot to handle sometimes, can't it? Especially when it's as passionate and full on as this one sounds.

Well done and all the best,

The right answer, solves a problem. If it's not working, it's faulty.
