Artificial

I was once so sure of the path I'd take
Gripping as tightly as I could onto destiny's rope
Just trying to keep one hand in front of the other
As I climbed higher onto my pile of false hope

How was I supposed to find the exit
When I've been lost in here since the very start
I've been searching for a sign to point the way
Only to find that me and the world are still miles apart

How could I possibly belong
In a place so dark and so cold
In a world embraced by its own shadows it casts
While promoting riches from fool's gold

Another really good write. I felt your sadness s you described trying to navigate in this world. It's not easy, that's for sure. Stay strong and keep pushing on. Well done-

    Hello Shadow

Excellent poem, excellent content and excellent rhyming. The last two lines I thought were particularly effective. Well done on a great write,
