Christmas for Megan (Acrostic)

by Maple Tree   Dec 15, 2016

Clinging to her coat she
Hungerly watches shoppers
Rushing past her tattered frame
Ignoring her desire for food as
Santa Claus forgets her again
This year-
Meaningful holidays
Are for helping those in need and
Stuffing her stocking with compassion.

    Yes, yes yes!

My heart is warmed by this.... such a beautiful image and reminder to help in any and every way we can. Let us not forget our fellow humans

A fully deserved club win here, Andrea.
A piece that makes us all (or most of us) look rather ashamedly at ourselves in the mirror...

    Take care,

    Ben

Andrea, I enjoyed reading this when you posted it for the acrostic Christmas challenge though I have to admit when I first read it I wasn't too sure about the content but reading it now it's very clear to me exactly what this is about and it's such a shame that many people all over the world will be starving, cold, homeless this winter.

    Thinking of you,
    Em
