Down at the bottom of the Sea

by Maple Tree   Mar 1, 2023

Stone, shadowy edges

Consuming empty spaces

Of a mind- lost and tossed

In the ocean.

A Rubik’s cube that’s been fondled.

Beyond repair.

Drowning in the sea, with me

And my ancestors.

Such a wasted miracle,

seaweed strangles

As I stare down every inch of sorrow, alone.

With my lobotomized eye-

Down at the bottom of the Sea, with me

Abandoned, are the minds of the lost and

Forgotten.

Andrea, my friend. The imagery as always is spot on and the piece itself, masterfully written. The world is a dark place, much like the bottom of the sea, the part of the ocean where life barely frequents. I love this. As always. Love, x
