Through the Darkness

by Debra Ponsaa   Jan 23, 2017

You come to me through the darkness.
Wading through the fog of night and
peering out from behind the street lamps.
You slip inside my dimly lit doorway
in the darkest hour for no one else to see.

I await you like an anxious child.
Waiting for you to take me once again
to that lonely place.
To that world that only exists
with you and I and darkness.

You come to me through the darkness
You, like a child of the night,
whose secrets we all must abide.

Passion, so full of thunder
Fire flares from your lips
Your glance, how it burns inside.

You come to me through the darkness
My arms open wide
Waiting for you to love me again.
