Broken Bridges

by Debra Ponsaa   Jan 23, 2017

Memories rekindled in the early morning
hours.

Your caresses; how they burn.
Sensations once lost; tremble.

Seeing you now - strolling over broken bridges -
Emotions roaring; fiery embraces;
kisses still lingering in the darkness.

Tossing stones trying to reignite the magic; trying to find its way back to warmth.

Memories rekindled in the early morning hours.
Like distant lovers, we have learned to live apart.
