Emboss

Coat your heart, but don't seal the pain,
You'll have all the rage, but none to blame.
Null of emotions, a hollow ache,
Only a reminder for memories sake.

The coating is thick, always heavy,
It may be solid, but it won't hold steady,
For this coating has minor cracks,
Before you know it, the pain is back.

Salt leaking down cheeks, a racing heart,
Anger and turmoil, as it tears you apart,
How does one stop this bitter taste?
It is not a process that shall be done with haste.

First, erase all data, all memories linked,
Including the edge that had emotions synced,
Reformat the connection, and forget the facade,
It may seem easy, but re-coding data is quite hard.

Paint on a smile, so others will not worry,
Die inside as the recollections are buried,
Hold in the emotions, the downfall of this era,
Linked with upset, fear and terror.

Go about your day, once you are healed,
Nothing to fear, your heart is sealed,
You're a new person, albeit stronger,
You're dead inside, but nothing to torment any longer.
