Lost and Found

by Alex Yew   Jan 16, 2018

Once I heard you cry
on the phone
In the middle of the night.
My heart sunk deeply
as if with thousand innocent lives
on the titanic
in April 1912.
I told myself
to make you mine.

Day after day,
I grew to know you more
through exciting conversations
on the phone.
Till I felt the time
was just right to confess
how much my love is for you.
The guy publicly appeared
and brutally snatched you
away from me.
And I told to myself,
"Let you Fly"

Yet,
I lost myself
since he
your ex returned.

Now,
I have learned
to unlearn you.
May God Bless you!

    Thank you for you comment.
    Much appreciated.

I do agree with you that ' Sometimes, 'unlearning' someone is the only way we are able to move on.'

    May god bless you.

I do love this final stanza.
Sometimes, 'unlearning' someone is the only way we are able to move on.

    All the best
