I’m writing this poem while I’m drunk

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Aug 26, 2018

Your beautiful is unmatched,
and only challenge by your laugh and smile,
Your radiance draws me in,
Longing to hold you and gaze upon your truth,

When I look at you,
I see what could be,
Full of happiness and strength,
Just to spend a moment with you is more than I deserve,

But yet,
You ended up in Chicago,
A few stores down selling lotion,
Not a care in the world
and I fell for you,

I thought I had all the time in the world,
but fate chose a different path,

Stripping me of the most adorable smile,
And woman I would never get to know,
I pray that one day we will cross paths,

One day,
As I hike up a mountain,
just to look down over the rivers,
And envision the beauty of you,

I wish I would have asked you out earlier,
Literally it’s too late,
All I can do is talk about you how special you are,
But you’ll never know.
