She's an Empress

by Sive Klaas   Feb 20, 2019

You could have seen her, in light skin and lean shape;
When she smiles, she would serene the storm;
You could have seen her, in blonde hair, like a scape
She stands tall that my heart shall for itself perform
The love affairs.

She couldn’t but ‘least once caught a glimpse of me
Then; into an unknown territory, I lost myself many times.
Could she be like others?
Nights can be long and cold, with this weary heart
There's very few to love.

But far, down the woodland, I still find a springing dove
But for some strange reason, I sag my heart.
Boy, I wish I did;
I just found her intimidating.

    I really enjoyed reading this. Such a spring of heartfelt words. The fluctuation of moods are so symmetrical, like written by a seasoned poet.
