The Past

by Anna Banasiak   Mar 11, 2019

the rustle of autumn leaves
lulled cats
cuddled on the porch

under the dark blue sky
full of stars
in the moonlight

I see parents
grandparents' house
burnt by war

listened to the croaking in the pond
the dance of leaves
dreamy

slowly I find myself
in the dark and bright
future

This gives off such an intimate, nostalgic feel and I can't place my finger on what poet this reminds me of, perhaps it's just your style but I loved your word placement and how each stanza consisted of three lines. Thought-provoking piece that kind of makes one sigh, pondering the ghosts of the past and those which will blossom into the future.
