Always there

I’m writing this poem,
To tell about someone special.
I don’t think she even knows it,
But she saved me from myself.

She’s not only my cousin,
But my best friend.
And we’ll stay like that,
Until the very end.

In times of trouble,
She was always there.
In times of need,
She was there to care.

She’s my girl,
And through thick and thin,
I know I can always count on her,
To lend a helping hand.

If it wasn’t for her
I don’t know where I would be.
Or who I would be,
Without her by my side.
