To Remember

by ddavidd   May 23, 2019

I did not just fall in love with you
I remembered you!
You, the promised land,
the pallet of nectars,
oxygen and springs,
blossoms and fragrances,
THE
fruits of life!

I remembered where
that there
is no degree
no margins and borders
no above or below,
where the world
is the only truth, only trust
only veiled kisses.

I recalled all these in me
when I saw you.

I saw
that life is a squashing windmill,
everything pours down to powder
rocks, turn to sand,
-in order to pass through the throat of an hourglass-
everything falls
turns to debris,
to the
grains of dust!

And sometimes
a breeze blows the dust away
for us
to see things fair again,
to see statues longings to be sculpted,
poetry longing to be written,
-transforming these grains of word
back to where they belong-
pixels
back to the countenances,
sands to the blocks
blocks
back to the rock-hard
buildings.

Blowing dust away to recognize
crystal clarity
again,
to remember you,
to remember “us”

and to remember
that you've
always been
with me.

This poems seems simpler than most of your writes, but I’m not saying it’s simple!!! I could feel raw emotions on this which I really like.

Personally, I really love this part. There are too many things in life we have to wipe away the dust from. They have not been thrown away, which means they still have value to us...

The dust may also mean getting old, right?

It is a very good spin, though every spin is unique to that individual. Even when a poet gets recognized, it means, s/he somehow managed to turn her/his individuation collective.

About the simplicity, I try to keep my poems really simple, but the concept that I write about are very abstract therefor nor really available to those who do not want to seek beyond the surface.

      Thanks dear Star
