Breaking

by MariAnn C.   Jul 8, 2019

How much can I take
Before my heart completely breaks
For one small thing
I am not enough
I do so much to improve my stuff
I watch stuff to try and stuff to learn
And still my heart continues to yearn

I'm in love and allow much to occur
But how much do I take
Before my heart completely breaks
To hear her cry and see her tears
Adds too much to my already placed fears
To know that she needs another
For one small thing
Its like starring into the dark
Waiting for at least a candle to be lit

But then there is the good things
The touch, the snuggles, the kiss
The look in her eyes when she says I love you
It mends the holes and patches the breaks
So lets see how much my heart will take.

For E.C. ( I love you)

Being a mother must be the scariest place to be sometimes. To love another human being so completely that can conjure up such fears. Yet no matter what everything is worth it when that child says she loves you. A heart warming piece. Milly x
