The greatest gift

by KAZ ISHMAEL   Jul 27, 2019

The greatest gift is not found under a tree
And you can’t go and buy it in a store
The greatest gift doesn’t’ come in the mail
Or does it gets washed up on the shore

And It cannot be drilled from the ground like oil
or does it fall from the sky like the rain
And you will never find it
on the top of the highest mountain

The greatest gift can’t be value
Like if it's diamond, silver or gold
And it can’t be crafted by hand
Because it comes with no clay or mold

And It’s not hidden in a dozen roses
And the greatest gift can't be seen
And It won’t fall from a plane flying above
And It’s not red, yellow or green

And you won’t find it on a speed train
Or in one of your favorite song
But if you look inside your heart
You will see it been right there all along

The greatest gift to give to someone
Is our time, attention and concern
To believe in them if they lose faith
And standing on the bridge of no return

From the kindness of our hearts
Comes Love, compassion honesty
It’s the only gift that remains from us
Long after we are buried in the cemetery

The greatest gift we all possess in our hearts
our word and generosity are a gift that will carry on
It’s the only lasting gift that we can give
That will remain long after we are gone

It's easy to give the greatest gift
And it's absolutely free
And it would also plant the seed of love
That would blossom into roots of our family tree

The gift we give today
Will be the hope we leave for tomorrow
And future generations
Will enjoy the fruits as it grows

Our pride, and respects and dignity
Is the greatest gift we will leave behind
It will be the signature we sign in the wind
That will withstand the test of all time
