Third Degree

by Aegis   Jul 30, 2019

The ashes from my cigarette
fall intermittently and mix
with the ash already
swirling around
the street.

The smoke-laden air from
the burning mountains
nearby chars my
blackened
lungs-

suffocating.

And I wonder which smoke
is killing me more.

Thank you:) There's a huge fire nearby that's over 10000 acres and the entire valley where I live is covered in smoke. Can barely see the sky and there's ash falling on everything.
