Untitled Composition NO.1

by Kryptonite Dreamer   Nov 6, 2019

Here we are,
Just me, myself, and I,
Alone at this table for two,
Waiting on you,
You'd think we'd be happy,
But the words I want to say are gone,
My heart is bleeding for you,
You've been gone for so long,
I remember the day you left,
All the shrapnel you put in my heart,
All the shards of glass I'd try to save you from,
All the pain the world threw,
I took all those hits for you,
I took all the abuse for you,
And yet you blamed me for what happened,
You blamed me for the pain you felt,
You blamed me for the rejection that occurred,
The fact that you got hurt,
The fact that I couldn't help,
I told you I was a ticking time bomb,
Soon to explode,
Soon to kill everyone in my damage path,
I remember what you told me,
"I can make sure theres no casualties",
"I'm not gonna hurt you",
"I'll defuse this bomb in you",
"Just trust me",
I did,
And boy did it hurt when you let the bomb go off,
You let it explode,
You walked away,
When you said you wouldn't,
When you promised you'd save me,
So again at this table for two,
It's just me,
And the memories I had of you

I started reading it with a softness, then it felt angry, & then remorseful. I like the way you conveyed your emotional journey. Well done.

Could feel every word & the space in-between. Very heartfelt choice of words...simple...meaningful & yet so deep.

all the best and take care
