And. 1981

by Michael Lewington   Jan 26, 2020

Do you ever wonder
Do you stop and think about
The words of one great man
Did you ever listen
Did you understand
The stories that he painted
And
Did you listen
To his friends
That came before he left

Its just a conscience
We have one the same
And if it be uncovered
The nakeness would blind us

Did you ever see it
Did you look away
Was it a mother
Or a fathers son
Did you ask yourself
I should have touched and felt
But Didnt find the time
And
Did you ask yourself
What took the time you saved

Its just a conscience
We have one the same
And if it be uncovered
The nakeness would blind us

Have you been so lonely
Have you cried aloud
At the thought of no one
Loves you
Have you been caught
By that character
They call the savior
And
Have you run to him
In times of need

Its just a conscience
We have one the same
And if it be uncovered
The nakeness would blind us

Have you been stabed by guilt
Have you stopped and looked
At the feelings
Or brushed them away
Trying to hide them
And
Have you wished
The pain to go away
And cease to annoy you

Its just a conscience
We have one the same
And if it be uncovered
The nakeness would blind us
