Little Boy

by kimberly   May 10, 2020

There's a little boy
about two years old
he's treated like a toy
his mother's heart is cold

his mommy doesn't love him
to her he's just a mistake
she leaves him cold and lonely
while her coke gives her a break

he still sits in diapers
no shoes on his feet
the money's used for drugs
and his mom sells her body on the street

the house is cold and empty
no bed, no couch, no chairs
he doesn't even exist
in his world nobody cares

bruises on his arms
cuts on his side
mommy always beats him
everytime he cries

he has no time to play
no toys, no food to eat
he cries because he's hungry
so his mom covers his face with a sheet

no sound from his lifeless body
his chest doesn't rise anymore
his mommy took his life
left him dead lying on the floor

he never asked to breathe
or for the heart beat in his chest
he never asked to live in hell
or for his mommy to put him to rest

he lives at home with god now
that's exactly where he should be
he didn't deserve the pain he had
but now his soul is free
