A Poem for Poems & Quotes

I'm going to write a poem
And try to make it rhyme
I'm sure you'll all agree
This takes a lot of time

When trying to find the words
This can make you tense
Not only it needs to rhyme
But also making sense

And a story should be told
You can't just waffle on
Your audience is not dumb
And they can pick a con

Variety seems the go
Not always just romance
As this so often told
It might not even get a glance

And sad poems bring you down
Although a good way to vent
But I'm not sure that this is
A message which should be sent

Then there's fun and humor
Although they don't always win
It's harder than you think
To make somebody grin

As I'm jotting down my thoughts
While on this crusade
I feel quite fulfilled
To what I see displayed

I thought this would be hard
Like writer's block syndrome
But without even trying
I managed to write a poem

I heard about a site
Where you post all that you wrote
It looks so fun and friendly
And is called "Poems and Quotes"

Now I know I'm not Shakespeare
And my words don't have his way
But I'll try my luck on here
Just to see what they all say
