Frozen

by Aiko (Dreamsurfer)   Sep 3, 2020

I'm in the garden in Kyebando,
Partly wetland,
Harvesting sweet potato leaves for the rabbits.
Suddenly, two animals run towards me.
I have no idea what exactly they are:
Grey-brown, fury and rat-shaped like pangolins,
Or spiny anteaters,
But really fast.
Frozen in one spot,
They pass me on either side.
I have never seen any animals like that in my village again.
