Nothing

by ibelievedhim   Oct 16, 2020

Cold seeps into my bones
As I lay in the dark, all alone
Hot tears stream down my face
Lines of letters and texts erased

A trick, a trap, a joke, a lie.
All those words made me cry
Trust, hope, friendship, and love
In the end we were on the edge of...

Nothing.

You felt nothing.
You gave nothing.
You wanted nothing...

I am nothing.

Beautiful. I feel your pain. I have learned not to let the fake and the ignorant mold me to benefit them. I will mold myself with dignity and pride. I wish you all the best.

I felt the ache and sadness of this, and with those last three words, like you've gone numb. I think when we give so much of ourselves, and have so much love to give, and that's not reciprocated in the same way, it's devastating. You penned that well here. When we have a great deal of hope and trust in a person, and they might not view us in the same light, or cherish what we've given.

Your words say so much more. A heartfelt and well-expressed write!
