Five to Nine

by Walter   Oct 21, 2020

Although my glass is empty
My throat no longer dry
In my wallet there's no money
It was all spent on you and I

I sit alone in my house
Just got back from holidays
There's no more fuel in my car
Because I drove all night and day

I'm dressed in plain old cloths
Instead of my work suit and tie
And cooking a simple dinner
As I know will satisfy

No glass filled with champagne
Prefer cold beer from a can
Normally on a tight schedule
But tonight I have no plan

Yes it looks like I live two lives
To the unexpecting eye
At work I'll act professional
But I'm a really simple guy
