Unearthly Sisters

by Milo   Nov 14, 2020

I was knee deep in water,
far away from the
peaceful dreams that I want.
There they were
behind the cloak of shadows
that formed all around me.
The ancient sisters,
unfathomable to our earthly plane,
whispered horrible tales
of a cruel past. Their voices
began to rise up like a storm in the ocean
just before the twilight hour of their somber domain.

How strange they were,
clouded in mysteries that
I will never understand.

The deathly sisters cursed
our shifting hearts and lands,
forever searching for their father
who was an elderman betrayed
by cold mortal hands.

Before they kicked me out
of this watery dreamland
with the high tides
of their gloomy ocean,
the unearthly sisters
said to me what they really are,
two darken flowers and not our ancestors,
drowning within under shaded stars.
