Your safe here little one
Frightened of hands nearing your face,
yet trusting enough to show excitement.
You little one came without warning,
Came before my heart was ready...
But I think you already knew that.

Because the day we brought you home
is the day you started to save me instead.
Before you, my darks were dark and
my lights were far and in-between.

Then you popped into my life
Unexpectedly, without warning
You were just here
and there was nothing I could do about it.
But with you, you brought light, a LOT of light,
a lot of laughter and a lot of emotions.

Because when you and I met little one,
we were both broken.
You were broken by people and I had a broken heart.
But together we showed each other
the light, the joy, the fun again.

You little one were not the one saved that day,
it was me- so all I can say is thank you!!
