What if

by Shah   Jan 24, 2021

What if you could come back for a moment
It might ease this suffering and torment

I would not argue or ask you to stay
Neither stop you from going your way

Would not ask you to wipe off my tears
Nor to sing some song to please my ears

Would not ask you to hold my hand
Neither to walk with me on the sand

I would ask you one little favour if you dare
Hold your hand on your heart and don't scare

Look me deep in my eyes and do not blink
Hold your breath and don't let your heart sink

Keep looking and tell me what you see
Is it some burning fire or a silent sea

Is it broken in little pieces or one whole
Is it shining like a star or dark like charcoal

Don't mind my tears, ignore them like you did before
Do not feel any remorse, keep looking and explore

Look deep into the mirror and tell me what you see
I have this little request, after this you are free

Is it a broken heart or a scattered soul there
Don't imagine anything just look and be fair

Let me give you a hint it might help you find
Your and mine soul in eachother intertwined

Isn't it that reflection? Do you recognize?
You never realized, this might be a surprise

Maybe you thought you just broke my heart
But it broke us both and took everything apart

Because you never believed me when I told
Nothing is same here, all differs in this world

Oneness and two-ness live like a myth
Nowadays we are not very common with

Old fashioned love, tales of Romeo and Juliet
Love and emotions from a different mindset

If you are ready and take this leap of faith
We both can heal and make things straight

I would sacrifice myself to stop you from breaking
If you turn around, maybe we can heal the aching

I would give you my love once again and forever
I would never ever leave you my love, never ever
