Building Debts

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 14, 2021

Sometimes I see you standing sheepishly
on the sharp corner of your life,
and I wonder what you truly desire inside.

Perhaps it feels like the whole world has gone home,
you have no chance of piecing your life back together.

You seem to always follow the leader,
no matter how misguided they may be,
and my fear is that you are never coming home,
but no one else can fix that - only you.

I have learned that you cannot change someone else,
you can only change yourself,
and maybe that is the first step in fixing this tragic mess.

What do you need to do to fix you?
Where are you leading yourself to?
You are crossing so many roads that don't lead home,
are you sure your making choices with no regrets?

Did you ever think of us before you walked away,
or did you decide to never back down,
regardless of the heavy consequences.

Maybe I know I can't unlove you,
but you are building up a debt of forgiveness
that I don't think I can ever help you pay.
