That last line! This was different from your other writes, and it especially hit me, with how relatable it is, and how gut-wrenching it can be, when time surprises us in this way. Remembering someone, whether they are gone from our daily lives or from this world, and how memories can evolve or slightly change over the years.... and we hold on to them still. It made me think of those first images of someone, how they may evolve over time, and how our perspective may shift. We may not know how to deal with that. Or if our remembrance of someone is no longer protected in the way we wanted. Thought-provoking piece!

I don't think the title fits this poem - claustrophobic emotions would mean that the emotions are sort of subdued, wanting to hide, but they're very evident in this poem. You've captured sonder perfectly - we're all subjected to time, a sort of tidal force that'll ebb and shape memories. There can often be a disconnect between reality and memories because of it.

Time is the ruination of us all and as this poem said, we never do account for it until it's too late. The last line is definitely the kicker. That single line encapsulates loss through age magnificently. Milly x
