Bunny Girl

by El_Mabini   Mar 23, 2021

The sun was waving goodbye before his sight.
There he was, alone sitting without feeling tense.
He just let drip down the warm tomorrow's daylight
From his hands down the old wooden bench.

The girl with bunny ears was looking from afar.
"Another one again." She whispered to herself.
She waddled with the moment with no intention of a spar.
She gave herself space and joined the man.

The man shifted his gaze upon her with blank eyes.
Like what she always does, she just replied to him with a smile.
She carefully caressed his hand that succumbed to demise.
She heard his faint winced of pain so she felt fragile.

In her dress’s pocket, she dug for her special quilt.
To caged again his escaping vulnerability and guilt.
It forced him to destroy the wall he once built,
Until he had enough and chose to quit.

"Why are you here again, with a sinner like me." He asked.
"I came to help ease your pain but cure you not." She replied.
"No one can save me, even the devil let me be." He said
"Blame me not. But I am afraid for I am no God." She answered

"In one's needy and hopeless life, I was obliged to always appear.
I was tasked to save people from drowning in their abyss of fear.
I have to collect and fix their pieces when they crumble.
I have to fill up their empty holes when they get unstable."

I have these big bunny ears to hear their silent screams.
I have these plain quilts to help cover up the open seams.
I can sense whenever I have to save them again like what I see.
Bunny Girl, is the name they wanted to call me.".

"If these were your tasks, then who will do these for you too?"
She didn't reply because she didn't know the answer.
She just smiled at him as he asked again. "Who bunny girl, who?"
"I am afraid I don't even know what to reply, mister."
