The Mouse, The Elephant, and The Seesaw (English Sonnet)

by Everlasting   Jun 2, 2021

It seems our love is just a mouse my dear
And sadness is an elephant you see
That is too big and heavy, filled with fear
Yet in a seesaw brings our love up, whee!
The joy, the joy, the merry joy, yippee!
To be on top yoo-HOO and feel the breeze!
That’s love, oh love, oh yes, that’s love so free!
That can be blown up with a big a** sneeze!
I guess that’s love, our love right now it seems
Just fun and games with ups and downs whoopee!
The people near us hear our cheerful screams
the squeaks and trumpets that we live with glee!
Thus let us let this mouse enjoy the game
because hurrah! this seesaw isn’t lame.

Challenge by Mr. Darcy: Write a funny, clever and endearing English sonnet, Title: The mouse, the elephant and the seesaw

Note: this is probably not what it was expected but this is certainly a challenge. Writing a funny poem it’s so hard specially when moods don’t cooperate lol.

Thank you For the Challenge Mr. Darcy. This is all I could come up with. I mean, as far as humor is concerned.

This is great and although not what I had in mind, it's a fun and creative use of this form. Maybe I should pen my ideas for this title?
