lessons; by tiny steps

by Patrick Watson   Jul 3, 2021

metaphors, imagery, and hyperbole are a poets toolbox
articulating the ‘interruptions’ of pure logical thought
putting a spin on the mundane
now that’s having fun

the hurt feelings gang, singing their songs
boring:
broken hearts and abused souls trying very hard, to never recover
sailing ships, on life’s tides, creating excitement!

emotions, drilling deep into compassion
steaming up a rainy day, tears to lubricate the soul
love the shock absorber that bounces back
gives meaning to our lives, its high risk with high rewards
children need parents that are in love
just radiate love, it’s that simple!
