scripting self

by Patrick Watson   Jul 3, 2021

crusting the outer edges of my life
scabbing ,healing the wounds into scars
the "b" we call life,
plays on relentlessly, across a planet of no hope

I am thankful, filled with gratitude to have been born me
greed and more greed that’s the ambiance of our time
I feast and show finger to the beggar
shameless, I wash my feet and stare down my mirror
very little remorse stares back at me

life goes on, another day I am still me

    Deep insight.
Powerful self-realization into one's own self and the life around them.
The depth of the words within this poem is really strong.
You showed the reader an honest outlook on your own views and feelings about yourself, society, and the life you live.
I love the way you end it with such a true statement.
"Life goes on, another day I am still me."
Regardless of how we may feel about ourselves, we are always stuck with ourselves, and even though the heaviness and greed of life build we have it within ourselves to be who we want.
    Truly wonderful and deep write.
