Surrendering Me

by Baby Rainbow   Sep 17, 2021

The lonely look of fear runs back into the shadows,
drowned out by the noise of survival,
which kicks in every time fear surrounds me.

With a passing thought of who I am,
I suddenly feel empty,
colliding into the darkest time of my sacred shadow,
who will forever be the eternity of my stolen dreams.

My falling rainbow collapses to the ground,
scattering every memory of colour I ever had,
and I am so frozen to the ground
that I can't encompass them at all.

I wish I could go back,
without surrendering the last design of me,
but I can't remember who I was then,
I just know that something changed along the way,
I became you,
you became me,
and I don't know who we are any more,
or if either of us are actually me.

I just don't like who I now see.
