Lonely Choices

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 22, 2021

So may things can be so hard to believe,
even though they are clear to see,
but you looked into my eyes
and I know you saw the truth
trying to roll down my cheeks.

But I was lying to myself
when I thought you were just taking your time
to decide the one you want,
you were staring at me,
but you were running back to him.

I feel like a fool
because I was half way to forgiving you,
but instead, I had to sit there again,
watching him return by your side,
playing with your heart.

All I was thinking was
it should have been easier to pick me.
I have wasted so much time on someone
who is not even worthy of a life.

I will not stand by your side
and pretend to share your grief,
for we will all celebrate his death
whilst we will still be living on earth,
long after he is gone.

You will be as lonely then,
as you were since the day you left us for him,
and I will only ask one simple thing...

Do you still think it was worth it,
of a life where you picked him?
