Poetry's voice

by Deana Seaman   Jan 31, 2022

She quietly returned once more
Record her dreams in stanza's four
Find a peace that reached the core
When poetry found its voice

Reaching down to depths within
cleanse the heart, try to mend
words the writer can't rescind
When poetry found its voice

Buried deep, lying still
Held down by lack of will
breaking free, the void fulfilled
When poetry found its voice

Words that flow and fill the heart
dreams once scattered and torn apart
and so with life a brand new start
When poetry found its voice
