Hugless Nights

by BOB GALLO   Apr 4, 2022

What a hugless night!
Such infectious cruelty!
The world constantly solaces and deepens your sorrows.
The night is desperately looking for kindness,
pushing every jagged brick
looking for loose ones
to bring down the wall of cruelty.
Ravishing all the bents and bows of beauty
solacing its sorrows.

_Is there a soul
who can really smile without treason,
over the masticated trenches of this disguise?
Are there any arms
ever
to reach out?_

What a void of space
in midways of human hearts!
What a vigorous gloom
ranging along!

But
what a glorious glowing
is growing from this unsightly mud!

What an aurora is
efflorescing
out of my chest!

Such a sublimation of real meaning
is effervescing out of these incoherent
formless verses!

What a vivacious poetry
I can bring to life
out of these dead shadows
curtailing their shapes in ink
summarizing their torments in objects!

Such fragrant blooms
will burst out of my chest, my throat
from these stenches of indifference!

_But remember I shall survive
in goodness
not
in your memory
of me!_
