Mermaids

by BOB GALLO   Oct 14, 2022

The madness of falling in love
whole heartedly without any taint of hesitation.

Your beauty is the only definite thing
in the illusory world
that contains delineation
inside the ocean of formlessness.

It is the only sanity I could ever hold onto,
like a drowning man, for the sake of dear life.

It is the only deepness
that holds me afloat
to interpret the skies and light
in the two mirrors of
such profundities.

Your eyes are as deep as
the soul of the oceans and firmament:
the jars of an hourglass
pouring my endless musings to one another,

inside out
in the pebble of your eyes
where
the mermaids of merriment
swivel.
