Sunshine in the Winter

by Ying Xin   Nov 16, 2022

We used to share the same season,
but each season lasts for three months.
You became winter,
and I yearned for summer.

I was the sunshine,
giving you all my warmth.
But you preferred the cold ,
giving you shivers.

My sun rays gave you scorch marks.
Your wintry left me in bleak.

You can’t say you love me
when no longer having the warmth,
in your embrace.

You left me in the cold,
everytime you left our problem unsolved.

I am unable,
to stay in your heart,
that’s too cold,
for me to survive.

You stole my air in bits and pieces.
Drown me in the winter storm,
and left me died.
So I won’t be gasping for you,
to pull me into your arms.

I said I’m willing to wait,
for summer to come back,
till my last breath.
Now my grave is covered in snow.
