To The River (For You)

by Some Random Human   Nov 27, 2022

I could've went down,
in the river to drown,
for both of us,
stay quiet, no sound,
so I won't be found,
for you,
I could've been strong,
held on so long,
if I had your trust,
but now I feel weak,
outlook is bleak,
no you,

All I need,
is for you to see,
right through my pain,
to build me up,
and say I'm enough,
for you,
but I'm alone,
here on my own,
I'll go insane,
I'll kneel and pray,
beg you to stay,
won't you,

And I could've went down,
in the river to drown,
for both of us,
stay quiet, no sound,
so I won't be found,
for you,
or I could've stood tall,
right through it all,
and held you up,
but you wouldn't stay here,
now I face my fears,
no you,

Well, I should've gone down,
to the river and drown,
for both of us,
stayed quiet, no sound,
so I'd never be found,
for you,
and I heard what you said,
when you wished me dead,
so now just trust,
that I'm finally gonna try,
to simply comply,
with you,

So I'll just go down,
to the river and drown,
for one of us,
never make a sound,
so I won't be found,
by you,
no, I won't be found by you,
no, I won't be found by you,
I won't be found by you...
