Juniper Berries

by lisa marie   Feb 1, 2023

My body invites you into this life.
From a tiny seed to plump cargo,
I carry you with pride.
I carry you with joy.

You’ll never be thirsty,
Or breathe without pruning.
Every nutrient your soul desires,
Runs through my veins.
And every comfort your life requires,
Is embedded into my mind

I carry you with pride.
I carry you with joy.
I’ll carry you until
Your leaves unfold,
And I’ll watch you.
Proudly carry on,
Completely dignified.

I am now a gardener,
Never thought I could be.
But you are my baby
My juniper berry
