The Unknown Battles

by Lyn Aribaca   Jun 25, 2023

Your face once painted with happy colors,
I thought you were content and free.
You encouraged me to find peace,
To conquer my fears and let them flee.
I saw you as the unbreakable stone,
A wall that could never fall.
But now I see the secret battles you fought,
And the pain you kept hidden from us all.
You were on a tightrope, barely holding on,
And nobody knew you were breaking.
The wall I thought was the strongest,
Now lies in ashes, forevermore
