Limerence

by Obscure   Jul 13, 2023

You're a need, not a want, in their mind
And they don't care what evil they find
No matter the cause
To them, you've no flaws
For without you, they start to unwind

And it's not in a casual way
As if spell-cast by some wicked fey
Obsessed and deluded
They just want included
In every kind word that you say

They're addicted to having you near
And this sort of desire's so severe
If their love's not returned
They will feel they've been spurned
And that thought fills them strongly with fear

You're exactly the thing they've been craving
But you see from they way they're behaving
They'd swallow you whole
If it gave them control
Pay attention, those red flags are waving

If a limerent fool comes a-calling
Be quite cautious before you start falling
Because thirst is not love
Though some prize it above
To be honest, it's really appalling

I don't understand limerence fully, but this came from my impression of it.
