The Devil Doesn't Bargain

by Kasie   Jan 29, 2024

The Devil doesn’t bargain,
He warps your thoughts to distortion.
While striving to drag you down again,
Til Righteousness seems so foreign.

The relationship you desperately crave,
Lies in waiting for you to change.
But the devil breathes confusion,
Warping your mind into disdain.

He guides you into darkness,
Til you’re drowning in self-hate.
Feeding you those anxious thoughts,
While telling you there’s no escape.

The Devil doesn't bargain,
He uses guile and deception.
Tricking you into evil deeds,
Regardless of your perception.

He wraps himself in an angelic disguise,
Just to make your steady feet trip.
All while whispering to you those cunning lies,
With venom dripping from his lips.

Link by link, he builds the chains,
That binds you into place.
Using them by tugging you,
Further away from God’s grace.

But there, within the darkness,
Sits Jesus with his light.
Awaiting your repentance,
Which makes your soul ignite.

He'll dispel all the darkness,
That lingers in your heart,
Breaking all the chains,
That keeps you and God apart.
