Losing you Lost Myself

Losing you Lost Myself
I stare in a mirror to what once was
What stares back at me is unknown
I’ve loved you every second upon a day
I lost myself in you far too long

My smile has faded and converted with a forced grin
I put on a mask for the world to see
Losing myself in loving you
I have forgotten my own identity
Now that you’ve gone from this life
I no longer know who I use to be
You took a part of me with you
You left me dismantled and empty

Measured fleeting moments accord expired time
Each mirror, glass, or reflecting water I see someone unknown
In hopes of some small chance of myself I find
I have to walk this broken trail alone

Days of your absence speak more volume than words
I must muster up the strength to rediscover life without you
Fragments of an absconded heart you took
Losing you I lost me too
