The Smile

by ddavidd   May 20, 2024

Just in the moment you smile
life
turns
to a painless experience,

the bitter coffee of this night,
sweetened with the sugar-lump of fool-moon,
pours to my throat,

the french vanilla
of
your teeth biting my bitter darkness away;

Just on those huggable moments of oceans,
when oceans are floaters and you,
are the ocean.

I've found the ocean
in the floater of your stare
the cradle of your heartbeats.

then
I've found out
my star is only a top
on the Chardonnay of deep oceans,
that only your smile
could
uncork.
