Still I Die For You

by Guilty By Design   Apr 22, 2025

In endless dark, I roam through time alone,
Chasing a love that time has overthrown,
Each place I go still leaves me more alone,
Your voice is lost, a ghost within my own.
The world moves on, but I remain behind,
Still chasing memories I’ll never find.
No peace, no rest - just fragments in my mind,
All that I am was carved by sorrow’s hand.
No door remains to lead me back to you,
I search in vain, though all my steps are true.
Each breath I take is haunted by your hue,
Though time may fade, my grief will still renew,
For love once lived - and I still die for you.

I really enjoyed your poem. This is a heartfelt expression of feelings that most of us experience and wrestle with. Your ending line tells a lot about your strength, conviction and how you have risen above it. But, most importantly it shows forgiveness which is the biggest takeaway I felt. Being from the same club I have a few introspective poems about lost love as well. Great work. Thanks
